Truancy Intervention Project
The aim of the DeKalb County Truancy Intervention Project is to implement a prevention and assistance program that addresses truancy and educational neglect in our communities. Our goal is to develop an early intervention program that reduces unexcused absences by assisting parents. The DeKalb Truancy Project also focuses on responding to the needs of the truant student, including counseling where necessary. Outcomes include improvement in school attendance and a reduction in juvenile daytime crime rates.
